A obra Policraticus de João de Salisbury representa um dos textos fundamentais do medievo. Escrita dentro do estilo renascentista do século XII ela gerou polêmica desde a sua publicação pelas suas doutrinas, dentre elas: a defesa do tiranicídio. O presente estudo tem por objetivo dar uma contribuição a essa discussão, mostrando que, embora seja possível apontar para algumas lacunas na sua argumentação, a defesa do tiranicídio em João de Salisbury está consoante com elementos do seu pensamento político. Nesta (...) perspectiva, procuraremos mostrar: o direito de resistência civil e o tiranicídio; breves observações sobre a posição de Salisbury. João de Salisbury (ca.1120-1180) é uma das grandes figuras do medievo. Nascido na Inglaterra, estudou na França, onde frequentou a escola de Chartres, ali foi aluno de Pedro Abelardo (1079-1142). No seu retorno à Inglaterra, foi secretário do arcebispo de Canterbury, Thomas Becket (1118-1170). O conflito deste com o Rei Henrique II da Inglaterra, que acabou desembocando no assassinato do arcebispo por seguidores do Rei na Catedral de Canterbury, foi decisivo para as posições políticas de João de Salisbury. O _Policraticus_, uma obra escrita em estilo renascentista do século XII, reflete as posições políticas, filosóficas e teológicas do autor e, desde que foi publicada, gerou uma série de discussões e polêmicas. Entre as posições polêmicas está a defesa do tiranicídio. Neste trabalho, o objetivo é apresentar e analisar sinteticamente a prática do tiranicídio em Salisbury, valendo-se principalmente dos livros III, IV, V e VIII do _Policraticus_. (shrink)

Il saggio affronta la questione se nel pensiero di Giovanni di Salisbury sia presente un pensiero mistico e quella di quali siano le relazioni con la sua teoria della conoscenza. Il pulchrum rappresenta uno dei temi tramite cui è possibile riflettere su tale questione, poiché problematizza il rapporto tra umano e divino, tra immanente e trascendente, su più livelli del discorso salisburiano. All’interno del generale atteggiamento scettico dell’autore, il pulchrum si articola nelle dimensioni dell’armonia musicale cosmica e umana, come (...) proportio o venustas; dei criteri di misura, numero e peso con cui Dio crea e che sono indici della sua ineffabilità in senso dionisiano; dell’armonia tra forma e contenuto proprie della retorica e della poesia; infine dell’ordine proporzionale che regola non solo il cosmo, ma anche la res publica. Il saggio conclude individuando un atteggiamento mistico, che non è propriamente pensiero mistico, nei momenti in cui maggiormente emergono gli aspetti di ispirazione dionisiana. The essay concerns the question of the possibility of mystical thought in the reflection of John of Salisbury and that of what is the relationship with his theory of knowledge. The pulchrum represents one of the themes through which one can approach this issue, because proves problematic the relationship between human being and God, immanent and transcendent, on multiple levels of John’s thought. Into his general sceptical attitude, the pulchrum is articulated in some dimensions of the musical harmony, both cosmic and human, such as proportio or venustas. In addition, it is understood as measure, number and weight with which God creates and that are signs of his ineffability in a Dionysian meaning. The concept of beauty is also related to the relationship between form and content concerning both rhetoric and poetry. Finally, it concerns the proportional order that regulates not only the cosmos, but also the res publica, in the moments in which the aspects of Dionysian derivation mainly emerge. (shrink)

Some recent trends of modern biology, which seem to have a most consequential influence to the further treatment of the problem of the origin and evolution of flowering plants, are shortly reviewed in this article.Several new discoveries and observations about pollinating insects revealed to some extent the mystery of the evolution of flower types. The deciphering of the definite signs and codes of communication among social insects and the interpretation of a well developed sign language of bees belong to the (...) most remarkable achievements of modern biology indeed. Besides its revolutionary impulse in the field of animal behavior these discoveries helped to solve several problems in the evolution of flowering plants.An attempt is made in this article to classify the existing main flower types according to their evolutionary tendency from primitive → simple → radiate → protected → zygomorphic flowers In this assortment of flower types is reflected the historical development of flowering plants since their early beginning in Cretaceous period till their domination in the recent world vegetation .In this evolution of flower types is mirrored further the progressive evolvement of numerous senses of the pollinating insects. The pollinators of the Middle Mesozoicum were surrounded by primitive flower types and could distinguish but some primitive colors like white, yellow and green.Two different methods of classification of flowering plants are used in this study. A typological assortment of flowers according to their ecological characteristics is co-ordinated with the taxonomic classification of phylogenetic groups . The evolution of angiosperms can be studied more successfully, if both the typological and taxonomic trends of this groups are analyzed.Quelques nouvelles découvertes et essais sur la dissémination du pollen par les insectes sont discutés du point de vue de l'évolution des types de fleur. L'activité sélective et la stabilité de ces insectes se trouvent être des facteurs les plus conséquents dans l'évolution des types de fleurs.Deux méthodes différentes de classification des plantes angiospermes sont employées dans cette étude. Un assortiment typologique de fleurs suivant leurs caractéristiques écologiques est coordiné avec la classification systématique des groupes phylogénétiques . L'évolution des angiospermes peut être étudiée avec plus de succès si les méthodes typologiques et systématiqes sont appliquées.Es werden in diesem Aufsatz einige neue Versuchsergebnisse über die wechselseitigen Beziehungen zwischen den pollenübertragenden Insekten und der Entwicklungsgeschichte der Blütentypen näher erörtert.Es sind unter diesen Umständen zwei verschiedene Arbeitsverfahren für die Klassifikation der Blütenpflanzen angewandt worden. Eine typologische Einteilung nach den ökologischen Merkmalen und eine systematische Schilderung nach den phylogenetischen Gruppen . Die Anwendung von diesen beiden Methoden gestattet uns eine bessere Übersicht über die Entwicklungsgeschichte der Blütenpflanzen. (shrink)

A survey of 106 medical students assessing their interest in and attitudes to medical ethics in the curriculum is reported by the authors. Results indicate that 64 per cent of the students rated the importance of medical ethics to good medical care as high or critical and 66 per cent desired to learn more about the topic. However, in reports of patient encounters identifying ethical issues, less than six per cent of the students reported a frequency of more than one (...) such patient encounter per week. The students also demonstrated a greater awareness of more obvious ethical issues than of more subtle, less publicised issues. When asked how medical ethics should be taught, the students clearly affirmed a desire for an integrated exposure to the subject throughout the medical curriculum. Solution: The direct HF feedback to antero ventral (AV) thalamus (MMN [Rightarrow A: implies] AV [Leftrightarrow A: l&r dbl arrow] HF), which is blocked by MMN lesions but not fornix lesions, is sufficient for nonscene-relevant consolidation.
